Intelligent Pedestrian Detection

The PG500 incorporates multiple optical detection points to monitor pedestrian movement through the passage.

The standard configuration includes 16 transmit/receive photocells, positioned at different heights to improve detection of pedestrians moving through the gate.

Security

The PG500 provides controlled pedestrian access when connected to an appropriate access control system.

The system is therefore suitable for entrances where controlled pedestrian movement is required without the physical containment associated with full-height turnstiles.

Important: The PG500 should be specified as part of a complete access-control system. The overall security level depends on the access-control system, site design, configuration and installation.

Safety

Pedestrian safety is a fundamental part of the PG500 design.

The optical detection system monitors the passage area during operation and helps the gate controller identify obstructions and pedestrian movement.

The system can also be connected to building fire and emergency systems through the dedicated fire input.

Normally open volt-free contact.

Contact closure of no more than 1 second activates the opening command.

Hold Open

Normally open volt-free contact.

Contact closure for more than 3 seconds activates the hold-open function.

Fire Input

Normally open volt-free contact.

Contact closure for more than 3 seconds activates the configured fire/emergency operation.

Outputs

The controller provides transistor outputs for external system integration.

Outputs can be configured for functions including:

• Passage complete

• Passage counting

• Fraud/alarm indication

Finishes

The standard PG500 finish is brushed AISI 304L stainless steel.
